Manufacturing Matters
Excellent article about how "Manufacturing matters by Professor Laura D’Andrea Tyson. Manufacturing is very important to our economy. Our success in finance and technology is our strong suit as a nation, but we need all parts of our economy functioning well for success. A part of a good and improving society is a job for all our citizens. We need jobs that fit the ability of all our people.

2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro
"Solar City Tower", built atop the island of Cotonduba, will be the welcome symbol to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. It will be seen by the game visitors and participants as they arrive by air or water.
The tower, captures solar energy. It will supply energy for all of the Olympic city, as well as also for part of Rio.
It pumps up water from the ocean to create what appears like a water fall and this fall stimulates turbines that produce energy during the night.
It will also hold the Olympic flame.
Henry Ford - Town Planner
Henry Ford did many things in his active life. Chuck Eckenstahler has written an interesting article about Ford's town planning and development efforts.
"Ford’s legacy is a “car guy” – but he also experimented with town planning necessitated by the need to transport from remote locations coal, wood, and metal natural resources required for the making of automobiles. "
"Fordlandia chronicles his efforts to tame 75 miles of Amazon jungle necessary to provide rubber for auto production."

The American Manufacturing Center
The school is a not-for-profit training facility teaching returning military personnel how to operate sophisticated production machinery.
The Mission
Our mission is to provide manufacturers with fully trained CNC machine operators. Candidates for our school are military veterans returning from overseas deployment.
My friend Ron Rainson has launched a great new endeavor. Their plan is to help veterans train for machine operator jobs.
Way to go, Ron
