How Much Electricity Comes From Renewable Sources

Most of Israel’s renewable energy comes from solar, although it contributes less than 1 percent of total consumption.
About two-thirds of all renewable energy comes from hydroelectric sources; about a fifth comes from wind.
Of its renewable electricty, Germany generates 37 percent from wind, 19 percent from hydroelectric and 15 percent from solar.
Twenty-eight percent of Denmark’s electricity comes from wind. The government plans to increase this to 50 percent by 2020.
About 93 percent of Canada’s renewable energy comes from hydroelectric sources.
Iceland generates 100 percent of its electricity from hydroelectric and geothermal sources.
