If Metro Areas Were Countries


If Metropolitan Areas were countries, the Chicago-Joliet-Naperville, IL-IN-WI would be a substantial nation: 

At $531 billion, Chicago’s metro is the equivalent of the 21st largest economy in the world—larger than Switzerland’s ($523.3), Poland’s ($469.4) and Belgium’s ($466.3).
