Dan Fogelberg Memorial


PROPOSAL TO  CREATE A MEMORIAL FOR DAN FOGELBERG ON THE PEORIA RIVERFRONT.

Mr. Hugh Higgins is leading an effort to create a Memorial for Composer / Singer and Peoria native Dan Fogelberg.  He requests that a site be provided on the Peoria Riverfront Park next to the existing Alzheimer Memorial Garden. 

The site provides an attractive view of the river, which inspired some of Fogelberg's musical work. The site would be visited by pedestrians on the River bikepath.  Park District Staff and City Planning and Economic Development staff have reviewed the plan and support the proposal. 

The memorial would be a large boulder etched with one of Fogelberg's songs. Higgins and his group would raise the funds necessary for the installation.

    What a wondeful tribute that would be to Dan!! He still has so many devoted fans-me being one (for over 30 years!) No other singer/songwriter touches my heart/soul like Dan's music has..He was such a talent, his songs are masterpieces. I still never tire from listening to his large catalog of songs!!! He deserves to be remember by all, especially his hometown!!!
